MOVIE REVIEW

THREE MUSKETEERS

(This will be a different, short, and blunt review.)

WOW.

I was first taken in by the historical accuracy of the costumes. Very well done and uncomfortable I might add. If were a woman in France back than I might rip those stiff collar things off my neck.

Second young teenage king Louis is played very well. The first word that came to mind when he made his screen appearance is, Pansy. And a French Pansy he is. Very funny.

The graphics are beautiful! They crash the war balloon on Notre Dame and because of the antique quality of the picture its easy to believe.

Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D'Artagnan. I'm picky about these characters because I fell in love with them the first time. So at first I was hesitant to see them remade. But they were brilliant. The female characters I didn't care much for. Sometimes Hollywood wants to make the women characters too invincible and for me I prefer accuracy. But Milady DeWinter was supposed to be strong so I tried not to be too critical of her.

Basically I felt they followed the book SO much better then first movie. And I loved the characters, the colors, I laughed so hard when I realized that Orlando Bloom was the Duke of Buckingham. I didn't see any previews before going to this so I was extremely surprised.

And the plot is simple, they are just trying to save the queen. That alone was brilliant(sometimes these shows try too hard)

Overall its a really good show and I would see it in the theater a second time.
