March 19th 2016 - Happiness: when big brother tapped me on the shoulder and said, "it's time to clean up. Will you help me? Can you pick up the cars and I'll pick up the blocks."
Happiness: when little brother is crying, and big brother turns off the TV and says, "we don't need it on because it's to much noise right now."
Happiness: big brother coming out of the kitchen and asking, "can I wash the dishes?"
Happiness: putting little brother to sleep to find big brother waiting to snuggle. And while holding him, big brother falls asleep too.
Thanks to Mason, today has been an extra happy day.

2016 - 4 Years Old  (Sheridan, WY)

April 2016 - Mason has discovered he won't get into trouble for sneaking into the freezer if he brings mommy an Andies mint first.
-Clever Boy

May 2016 - Watching Frozen yesterday and Mason starts laughing at the part Kristof asks Anna about her true love picking his nose ....
"I pick my nose too."
"Ew. Don't pick your nose it's gross."
"But my fingers fit perfectly!"

June 2016 - The wise words of Mason
"Mommy you look a little grumpy."
"You know what I am."
"You should eat something. Then you'll feel better."

August - Mason: Mommy, How old is daddy?
Mom: He going to be 35 soon.
Mason *gasp* We gotta stop him.

Sept 2016 - I just realized, Mason was (and is) the kind of boy that changes the empty toilet paper roll with a new one without being asked. Tanner's going to be the boy that unravels the whole roll and shoves it all in the toilet.
... Don't ask me how I know this.

December - Being taught by a 4 year old.
You've probably heard the several occasions where mason has lost something precious, prayed and then four weeks later it appeared. It's happened several times and each time I am amazed and astonished at his faith. Especially when, that stuffed mouse he lost at the Burger King play place, I gave up on it after two days. But the Lord answers prayers and mason reminds me that the little things are just as important to pray for as the big.
We've been looking for the glue gun for days now. Still have a few gifts to finish but we can't until we find that blasted hot glue gun! I paused for a moment while searching again today and suddenly mason's little voice came from the kitchen.
"Mom we should just say a prayer so we can find the glue gun."
Bam! Proud parent moment! Followed instantly with the thought, 'how come I didn't think of that first?'
It seems I've conditioned myself to pray for the big things, which we've had many big things to pray for, but I've been overlooking the small things and they just as important to pray for.
Having a 4 year old around to help me realize these things is pretty great.

The one with the New Bike and New Shoes

August 2023
Biking with buddies and coming home just in time for dinner covered in dirt, is one of the greatest childhood memories a boy can have. These boys he's playing with are going to be freshmen this school year and they are new to the area. The usual neighborhood kids are somewhere indoors staying out of the smoky air (its fire season). Its good to have more friends.

I look forward to the day when I can post Mason's mission photo with Chris at his side.
