Six times today I said it. But only now have I decided to write it down.
Mason has such a gentle spirit that sometimes it amazes me. There were so many times he could have cried. Thrown a tantrum. Anything. But he didn't.
We were in Ikea for HOURS - seriously you get lost in that place it's amazing. He got angry a bit at the beginning for being strapped in a shopping cart but than towards the end, (the point past his nap time) anyone could see he was obviously tired. Yet all he did was kick his feet and let mommy continue exploring the store of endless wonders.
Seriously such a good boy.
Than again tonight. I thought he would never be ready for bed. He wasn't showing any of the usual signs for being tired. Playing with his dad wound him up more. So I figured he was going to kick and scream when bedtime rolled around.
We read some stories, I wrapped him in his blanket, put him in his crib, sang one song and I closed the door. A half hour past and I decided to check on him. Yes, still awake but he was completely content rolling around in his crib for the past 30 minutes and didn't think it necessary to bother me. I readjusted his blanket, wound up his little music box and closed the door. Ten minutes later he was fast asleep.
What a good little boy I have.
Now thinking back to the rest of the day I counted all the times I thought that exact phrase and it amazed me. I know some days are going to be better than others but for a 10 month boy, who is teething, I truly believe I am one lucky mother.
