We've been having quiet the full adventure these past few weeks. Moving from Spring Creek to Murray UT. Mason adjusted quickly it's his mother that's still having a hard time with it. We even spent a few weeks with Mitch away for work, which was not fun for us. But we discovered how much this boy loves his dad. He knows his daddy's not home when he's supposed to be. He perks up when he hears dad's voice on the phone, of course seconds later he gets distracted by shoving the phone in his mouth but that's common. And when daddy walks in the door Mason gets overly excited by the mere sound of his voice. It really is amazing how early in their lives children can pick up on these things.
Things Mason loves:
- To Eat - Still one of his favorite things. He makes the usual noises, awwww and MMM! And he does them enthusiastically. As if everyone in the neighborhood needs to hear how good these veggies are. And he eats everything I give him. Even his previous dislike of peas is gone. He'll make a face but he keeps opening his mouth for more. Eating might be this kids greatest talent ... for now.
- Singing - He already has a love of Music. Of course I have to sing to him all the time but sometimes, if he's not too distracted, he'll sing right along with me or the radio. It usually comes out in a high pitch note that fluctuates slightly as he sticks things in his mouth but it's singing and he loves it.
- Kids - He will sit and watch the kids in primary or his cousins run circles around him. True he's trying to figure out how he can run with them but it's fun to see the look of wonder in his eyes whenever there are other kids around.
- The Outdoors - I have a feeling we'll be out taking walks in the snow soon but that will not make Mason want to stay inside. He loves to be outside. Whenever we're out he gets really quiet while he tries to take in his surroundings. We might have to do a lot of hiking as he gets older.
- Bouncing - he's only had a bouncer for two days now but he loves it. I can only imagine how much more he's going to love the swings soon.
- People - Mason's still a flirt and he loves to play and meet new people. Uncle Aaron has given him so much attention making him laugh that now Mason merely has to see Aaron's face and he thinks it's hilarious! And of course while he's laughing Mason looks around to make sure everyone's watching him, because it wouldn't be as much fun if no one were there to witness him laughing.
- Standing - I almost forgot this one. He loves to stand. Can't pull himself up yet but once you've got him on his feet he will start walking forward and will expect you to help him all the way.
New Experiences:
- Snow - Now we've experienced snow falling before but this morning it came down heavy and is sticking on the ground. He didn't so much like it when it hit his face but he couldn't stop starring at the sky and seeing it come down or looking at the ground when I put him down.
- Scooting - He's accomplished the backward scoot and the counter clockwise turn. So you can imagine how much he gets stuck going backwards.
- Sound Effects - He will do it himself with his own hands or he will use a toy to rub over his lips while making noises. It's not a awesome of a sound as when daddy does it but Mason is determined to get it. Also clicking his tongue, I take credit for this one. Now he clicks his tongue all the time while he's playing. I love it!
Basically Mason is loving life. We think he's about 20 to 21 lbs but how well can you trust your bathroom scale, right? Fact is though the boy is heavy and full of wiggles so carrying him around he feel around 25 lbs..
